Dr Nokuthula Ndibongo Mbebe is the CEO of the Eastern Cape Transport Tertiary Coop in the Eastern Cape (ECTTC). Nokuthula was a commerce teacher for 13 years. In 2008 and joined the Minibus Taxi industry as an accountant. She holds a secondary teachers Diploma, B.Com Accounting, Further Diploma in Educational Management, an Honours and Master degree in Education and a PhD in Business Administration. Dr Mbebe devised the legal framework and implemented the Cooperative concept for the Minibus Taxi Industry in the Eastern Cape and developed the new programme called Wealth on Wheels, which is now being rolled out as a white labelled version of the FORUS Digital platform.
Hasen is the Managing Director and one of the co-founders of Ecentric Payments Systems. Founded in 1998, Ecentric thrives in an innovative environment to bring clients the latest and greatest in switching systems and payment processing. As a one-stop, omnichannel payment solutions partner, they offer best payment processing software for in-store and online payments, as well as for efficient back-office administration and reconciliation. With near 100% uptime, they process more than 800 million transactions to a value of R400 billion annually. Owned by Standard Bank and FSS, Eccentric has the track-record to ensure faultless implementation and operation of the WOW project. Ecentric are the system operator of the FORUS Digital and WOW Platforms.
Sonny is the founder of FORUS Digital, having conceived the concept over ten years ago. He has spent years working and collaborating with partners across the globe to develop the FORUS Digital ecosystem. Sonny started his career in IT and strategy consulting for international audit and consulting firms and started his own point of sale business (Renaissance Retail) and listed it on the JSE in 1997 at the age of 29. He was also, the founder and CEO of Microangelo a POS solution for FMCG, fashion and specialty retailers, the CEO of JSE listed Information Security Architects (ISA), the largest IT security consultancy and value-added reseller in Africa, and the CEO of Skynet Technology Group, Inc. Sonny is the visionary of FORUS Digital who continues to drive the project into new and exciting areas based on his passions for technology and financial inclusion.
Mary is CEO and Co-Founder of FORUS and the African Wealth Fund. Mary qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997, and has over her career, worked in London and Nelson Mandela Bay and has a wide range of cross sector experience. She was instrumental in building Futerra Sustainability Communications in London, and after returning from London in 2011, worked for several years as Chief Financial Officer for the Secondary Cooperative – Laphum’ilanga Transport Services, owned by the members of the Minibus Taxi Industry in Nelson Mandela Bay. She joined FORUS Digital in 2017.
George is an economist specializing in socio-economic development and the digital transformation of cooperative models. At FORUS Digital, he leads impact analysis, evaluating the economic and social outcomes of innovative platforms like the WOW Platform. He studied a BComm in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Cape Town and joined FORUS in 2021 immediately after finishing his studies.
